We are committed to implementing and continually developing our Environmental Policy. We consider the elements – Energy, Environment and Ecology as the key-stones to an effective approach to environmental design.
Our ‘best practice’ approach begins at home, in the studio with our management plan which aims to reduce our carbon footprint, be as energy efficient as possible, minimise waste and re-use and recycle wherever possible. We regularly review our Environmental Policy by setting annual environmental objectives, training our team and continually raising awareness. In practice we liaise with our clients at the outset to understand their priorities, whether that be formal accreditations such as SKA, BREEAM or WELL or a set of specific environmental goals.
With our expert knowledge we pro-actively lead each project with a sustainable approach to specification based on key drivers such as the circular economy and the recommendation of products with an environmental declaration.
The processes required to run our practice and our projects adhere to the parameters set out in our Quality Management System which monitors performance, quality, achievements and improvements.
Our social policies focus on equal opportunities, diversity and the health, wellbeing and safety of our personnel. The service we offer is supported by a positive policy on training and the continuing professional development of our team, where individuals’ objectives and aspirations are recognised and encouraged. This process is monitored through our Performance Review and Development program.
We are aware of our place within the community and work hard to support local businesses and ethical suppliers. Our work experience program provides a leg up to local school children interested in progressing in the industry and we partner with Shelter each year to provide meals for the homeless.
The workplaces we design encourage diversity, support inclusivity and promote social cohesion. By providing a variety of work settings for different needs and activities our solutions cater to all. Our people centric designs focus on user’s wellbeing, comfort and safety to create happy, healthy and productive working environments.
We are governed by a Director, an Associate and our Practice Manager who collectively monitor our internal and external processes, meeting once a quarter to review procedures, policies and to set future targets. The board is comprised of a cross section of personnel to ensure a breadth and depth of knowledge, experience and perspective.
The Board measures the processes relating to ESG and the impact this has on the running of our practice and our projects. ESG policies and targets are regularly evaluated and, where necessary, modified to improve performance and results. Our Practice Manager communicates information to the wider organisation to ensure all team members are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities.
It is the responsibility of the Board, as a collective, to ensure that our practice and personnel operate responsibly and ethically in all that we do – for us, for our clients and for our community.
