Given that Mansfield Monk HQ is located just 10 minutes from Essex’s county town of Chelmsford we wanted to share a few of our favourite independents from England’s newest city. Alongside it’s medieval cathedral there are many new and established small businesses that make it a great place to visit.
Unprocessed and hand crafted, Wildwing Honey is harvested from ethically managed hives in Chelmsford. The unique, aromatic character is produced from the wild wanderings of their bees. Perfect as a gift or just to have for breakfast!
Not just your average tap room and bottle shop! Hoppily seek out and promote the newest and most exciting breweries that you’ve never heard of. Proud of their Essex roots, 75% of the beers they stock come from within a 50 mile radius and they are champions of the ‘little guy’ breweries, handpicking the best beers from the independent UK breweries.
Set in the bustling centre of Bond Street, Chelmsford is The Pop-Up Club; a social enterprise showcasing artists, makers and designers in one space. Working with independent, local creative small businesses there are so many unique gifts and products in store you could do your whole Christmas shop right here!
Acanteen is a family run restaurant and bar in the heart of Chelmsford using ethically produced and sustainably sourced food. Their varied menu is full of tasty dishes (and amazing pizzas!) for brunch, lunch or dinner and they regularly host art and music events in their large, eclectic space.
