We’d like you to get to know us a bit better so welcome to the news,
reviews and insights from the Mansfield Monk team.
It’s been a busy year so far at MMHQ but we thought it was time to check back in with our super-organised office manger Vicki to find out what makes her tick!
Who’s your favourite artist/architect?
V: My favourite artist is Alexander Calder. I discovered his work during my student days at art college. I’m a big fan of sculpture and physical three dimensional artworks, I really enjoy how he drew with wire. His work is technical and theatrical, it’s fun, has movement and has always made me smile.
More recently I love my daughters artwork. She recreates album covers from her Dad’s vinyl collection and there’s something so wonderful about a child’s take on an image……..Beautiful.

What are you reading?
V: I’m actually not reading anything at the moment so need a good book suggestion!
When you’re not working, what do you do?
V: I wish I could think of something exciting and glamorous but the reality is, when I’m not working at MM I have my other job as a Mum so I’m on the school run, the food shop, cleaning the house, sorting umpteen wash loads, nagging kids to get off screens and do their homework and running what feels like a restaurant every evening. I do try to visit the gym twice a week, and drink wine. Not usually at the same time but never say never!
What have you learnt at MM?
I’m one of the lucky people who really like where I work and more importantly who I work with. Prior to working at MM, I worked in interior product supply and so have never had an office based role. Therefore, I’ve learnt to sit down (although not very well) and that it’s fun to be on the specifiers side of the design industry fence for a change.
