We’d like you to get to know us a bit better so welcome to the news,
reviews and insights from the Mansfield Monk team.
Mansfield Monk have secured planning permission on the refurbishment and extension of 22 and 24 High Street Ingatestone and the construction of a new house on land to the rear.
24 High Street, Ingatestone
Following years of neglect this prominent building on Ingatestone High Street will now be sympathetically restored and extended to create two beautiful semi-detached two-bedroom homes. As architects on the project, we worked very closely with the local planning department and historic buildings and conservation officers to develop a scheme that is sensitive to its surroundings and adjacent listed buildings. The submission, which has taken over 12 months to prepare, required the expertise of local planning consultant Andrew Martin Planning and RPS Heritage consultants.
New house to the rear of Ingatestone High Street
The site, currently used occupied by a series of garage structures of which some are derelict and beyond repair, will be re-developed to make way for a new two bedroom ‘coach house’ style house of modest proportions. The detached property will include features such as clay plain tiled roof, exposed rafter feet and painted timber weather boarding, making it complementary to other properties in the immediate vicinity and the conservation area as a whole.
22 High Street, Ingatestone
As part of this development of Ingatestone High Street, Mansfield Monk have secured planning permission to refurbish and extend the period property at 22 High Street. Replacing an existing awkward flat roof rear extension with a new timber framed two storey extension and replacing existing uPVC windows with new hardwood casements, we aim to preserve and enhance the special character of the High Street Conservation area and its surroundings.
