Mansfield Monk team - Paul Parry

With his meticulous attention to detail and amiable manner, Architectural Technologist Paul Parry is a firm favourite with clients and contractors alike but what are his interests when not keeping MM projects on track? Find out here…

Who’s your favourite artist/architect?

P: I don’t have a favourite as such, but having visited the Guggenheim in New York and studying Frank Lloyd Wright during my University days, with his style of organic/simplistic architecture, would make him a likely candidate.

What are you reading?

P: I am currently reading, ‘With a Mind to Kill’ by Anthony Horowitz which carries on the adventures of James Bond.  Having just finished watching Masters of the Air, I enjoy watching any WW2 shows and films, particularly ones with planes! Also, I like any  ‘Godfather’ / gangster type shows and have recently started watching the Penguin whilst working my way through The Sopranos.

When you’re not working, what do you do?

P: Spending time with my family. Being a taxi driver to my eldest son and taken him to his numerous clubs/activities during the week along with trying to find where my youngest son has put the tv remote on a daily basis. When time allows, going to see The Arsenal or Leyton Orient or going to the driving range to remind myself how bad I am at golf and running…when my dodgy knees let me.

What have you learnt at MM?

P: Whilst working at Mansfield Monk, I would say I have broadened my technical knowledge of interior construction over the last few years. As part of the technical team, we work closely with our directors during the development of the tender and construction drawings and assist with site inspections to ensure the original scheme is delivered as originally envisaged.

There have been numerous projects requiring the use of Revit that has enabled me to further develop my understanding of using this software whilst working collaboratively with other consultants; from delivering housing projects to converting a large listed dilapidated warehouse for office use for planning and tender stages.
